Disability Accommodation Statement

Students who may need accommodation within their Canvas courses based on the impact of a disability must initiate the request with their instructor. The instructor will then contact the e-Learning staff who will then evaluate the request. The student will provide e-Learning with the required documentation and e-Learning will recommend reasonable accommodations and prepare an accommodation letter for faculty associated with the course. E-Learning then will then take steps to accommodate the student in the Canvas course and send an accommodation letter to Student Records, for official record keeping.  

Students are responsible for letting instructors know that they will need accommodation as soon as possible.  The instructor may choose to deny accommodation if they feel the accommodation will interfere with the essential elements of what the course is trying to teach or what is being assessed.
