Odile Iragena is a medical student at University of Global Health Equity (UGHE). She has a desire to become a medical doctor and global health leader who believes that health is a fundamental human right, not just a privilege. As a future global health leader, she believes that future and current health concerns like Covid-19 can’t be effectively solved if a global health lens is ignored. She has a great desire for health equity advocacy and participates in various seminars with global health-related topics to quench her thirst for global health.

Apart from health concerns, she has a great passion for IT. She is part of an IT work-study where she works hand-in-hand with the UGHE IT Team for effective setup and implementation of various IT projects. She aided in the launch of the “Students’ e-Learning resources” course on Canvas, which aims at familiarizing students with e-Learning resources provided by UGHE. She also participated in the arrangement of Lecturio and Osmosis training to enhance UGHE students’ knowledge about these platforms. She hopes to contribute more to the advancement of e-Learning at UGHE.

Apart from her professional life, she is very active in various extracurriculars. She has been a debater and basketball player since 2015. From 2017 to 2019, she served as a basketball captain for the Girls’ Basketball Team in high school at Ecole Des Sciences Byimana where she attended numerous inter-school tournaments. She enjoys participating in community services and being together with her friends.
